A notary since 2006 and founder of Groupe Synergie Notaires, Me Mirabela Petrulian practises in Laval, where she established her office in April 2007. For nearly twenty years she has assisted individuals, families, property owners and entrepreneurs with the legal decisions that mark the different stages of their lives.
Her practice covers real estate law, wills and protection mandates, estate law, corporate law and non-contentious proceedings. Over the years she has built a practice firmly rooted in her clients' day-to-day realities: buying or selling a property, mortgage financing and refinancing, estate planning, settling an estate, and certain legal decisions related to a business.
A practice built on rigour, and above all on listening
For Me Petrulian, a notary's role goes beyond preparing a deed and collecting signatures.
Behind every file are people, a family, a project or, at times, a more difficult period. Her approach is first to understand the situation as a whole, to explain what is at stake clearly, and to propose practical solutions that take each client's circumstances into account.
This way of practising has shaped Groupe Synergie Notaires since its beginning: a people-centred firm where legal rigour goes hand in hand with direct, accessible and transparent communication.
Me Petrulian places particular importance on clients understanding what they are signing and why. She favours clear explanations and practical advice, without complicating what can be explained simply.
Nearly twenty years of practice in Laval
Me Petrulian became a notary in 2006 and opened her office in Laval in April 2007.
Since then, she has assisted her clients with decisions and transactions involving real estate as well as personal, family and estate planning.
This continuity has also given her a thorough knowledge of notarial practice and of the realities of files in the greater Laval and Montréal area, and has allowed her to build lasting professional relationships with the people who regularly take part in these files: financial institutions, real estate and mortgage brokers, accountants, lawyers and other advisors.
Today she leads Groupe Synergie Notaires, supported by a team of assistants and collaborators, with the same intention as at the beginning: to offer a professional, accessible and deeply human service.
Areas of practice
Each of these areas has its own page.
- Real estate law →Purchases and sales, mortgages and refinancing.
- Notarial will →Making a will before a notary.
- Protection mandate →Planning for the protection of your person and property.
- Estate settlement →Support for the liquidator and the heirs.
- Corporate law →Incorporation, agreements and legal decisions related to a business.
- Non-contentious proceedings →Homologation of a mandate, verification of a holograph will.
An involvement that goes beyond notarial practice
Me Petrulian's commitment extends to her community.
A former student of Collège Beaubois (class of 1999), she has returned to that same community over the years as a parent, board member and volunteer.
After several years of involvement with the Fondation du Collège Beaubois (opens the Collège Beaubois website in a new tab), she is now President of its Board of Directors. This involvement allows her to contribute to an institution that shaped her own path and to take part in initiatives that support students and their school community.
She also takes part in activities with young people, including career days, where she presents the notarial profession and talks with students about the role of the notary and the opportunities the profession offers.
For her, this involvement is a natural way of giving back to a community she has been part of for many years.
Services in French, English and Romanian
Me Petrulian offers her services in French, English and Romanian.
Being able to assist clients in the language in which they are most comfortable makes for simpler exchanges and a better understanding of the legal issues — particularly when the decisions concern a property, an estate or the protection of one’s family.
Whatever the language used, her goal remains the same: that every client leaves the appointment clearly understanding the steps taken, the consequences of their decisions and the next steps in their file.
Notarial deeds are drawn up in French; Me Petrulian explains each document in English or Romanian, according to the client's preference.
A professional relationship that lasts
Me Petrulian's practice rests on a simple idea: a notary is often involved at several important moments in the same life.
A client may first come to the office to buy a first property. A few years later, the same client may return for a refinancing, a will or a protection mandate, the creation of a business, or the settlement of a loved one's estate.
That continuity is what gives her practice its meaning.
Rather than approaching each file as an isolated transaction, Me Petrulian seeks to understand her clients' overall situation so she can assist them consistently over the years.
After nearly twenty years of practice in Laval, this relationship of trust remains at the heart of Groupe Synergie Notaires.
